For larger transformers multiple measuring points can be done on each winding or have multiple housing measurements. Switch Gear:Photon Control offers a continuous monitoring system for switchgear insulation while in operation. Conducting periodical maintenance tests, rather than having ongoing monitoring, can leave switchgear in an unknown or unstable state. Defects could occur between periodic maintenance tests causing catastrophic equipment damage and an unsafe work environment. Over time, degeneration of insulation in the switchgear will occur due to electrical and mechanical stresses, elevated temperatures, and changes in the environmental conditions. By being able to continuously monitor the temperature you can identify when maintenance should be done or if the switch should be replaced. Connecting our temperature probes to each connector allows for continuous monitoring to ensure optimal performance and minimum downtime. As the temperature of the connectors increase, the connectors can oxidize causing failures and downtime. By using a Photon Control multichannel system each connection can be continuously monitored to reduce potential damage and ensure the power bar continues to operate at it's highest efficiency. |
